Battery

Honest battery health, read straight from the hardware.

A dashboard of what your battery is actually doing: charge, health, cycles, temperature, and power flow — plus a quick-glance popover in the menu bar, an optional keep-awake timer, and charge alerts.

Interactive illustration with sample values.

What it does

  • Charge level, charging state, power source, and time remaining
  • Design capacity versus current maximum capacity, cycle count, and condition
  • Live voltage, amperage, and wattage
  • Battery temperature
  • Power adapter details
  • Menu bar popover for a quick look
  • Keep awake for a chosen duration, released when it ends, when you quit, or when you turn the module off
  • Alerts when the charge reaches levels you choose

Where you find it

Permissions
None to read the battery. Notifications only if you turn on charge alerts. Desktop Macs simply show that no battery is present.

Deliberate limits

  • Keep awake and charge alerts are off until you turn them on, and neither changes how the battery charges.
  • Charge limits are not available yet; they stay research-gated and off by default.
  • Never asks you to disable System Integrity Protection.

Help shape a calmer way to look after your Mac.

A small group of testers is using MacUtilityHub before its public release. See what the beta includes and what it needs to run.
