Help
Install, update, remove, get help.
Installing
Open the disk image and drag MacUtilityHub onto Applications. If you open it from the disk image instead, it offers to copy itself to Applications first, because updates and background features need a permanent location. It never replaces a copy that is already there.
Once it is installed, eject the disk image and delete it. See requirements.
If macOS warns you
The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm an app downloaded from the internet. That is normal, and a notarized build shows that Apple checked it for malicious software.
If macOS instead says the app is damaged or that it cannot verify the developer, do not bypass the warning. Delete that copy and get the app from the download page. MacUtilityHub will never ask you to turn off system protections.
Permissions
Every permission is optional and is requested only by the feature that needs it. The safety page lists what each one is for and what happens without it. You can revoke them in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Updates
Signed builds check for updates about once a day. You can turn that off or check yourself in Settings, in the About section. When an update is ready, the app appears in the Dock until you deal with it. Each update must carry our signature, or it is refused.
Removing the app
From the app (recommended): open Settings and choose Remove MacUtilityHub. It lists exact locations and sizes before anything happens, moves them to the Trash, deletes your AI provider keys from the Keychain, and turns off the login item and the administrative helper.
By hand: quit the app, turn off its items in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions, then move the app and these locations to the Trash:
- ~/Library/Application Support/MacUtilityHub
- ~/Library/Caches/dev.macutilityhub.app
- ~/Library/HTTPStorages/dev.macutilityhub.app
- ~/Library/Saved Application State/dev.macutilityhub.app.savedState
- ~/Library/Preferences/dev.macutilityhub.app.plist
If you approved administrative Cleanup tasks, the helper also keeps a recovery journal in /Library/Application Support/MacUtilityHub, which needs an administrator to remove. AI keys remain in Keychain Access until you delete them: search for “macutilityhub”. Permission entries stay in System Settings until you remove them. Files that Cleanup moved to the Trash are yours and are not affected.
Reporting a problem
In Settings, use Copy Diagnostics, then paste it in your message. It holds the app and macOS versions, Mac type, language and enabled modules, and contains no files or chats. Please add what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
